Joelisms

He's got more "sayings". Joelisms, if you will. (i kinda stole this from you, Naomi. Thanks :))

Like,

If you ask him any question these days, the answer is typically, "I think so."

Or,

if he's tired? He always says "momma, scratch-a-back.", points to his back, and expects you to rub his back.

Or,

He's started to draw things. Like Daddy, mommy, a bunny, a snake, a panda stuck in a hole... a knife... you know. the usual. ahaha.

Before I Forget...

I need to start blogging all the cute things Joel says now-a-days.

Like this morning.

After being sent to his room for some debacle at breakfast, Joel stomps into the bathroom where i'm getting ready for church. He states the following in the most upset voice he can muster.

"Mom! My mom and dad won't let me eat my cereal for breakfast!"

I respond, "Do you need to tell your daddy sorry?"

"Oh."

He walks to the kitchen and says,
"Daddy, I'm uhh...."

I yell across the house, "SORRY!"

.....

He responds, "SORRY!"

He's just too funny. He'll come up to me and he'll say,
"mom, you have princess hair today."

Or,
"QUICK! TO THE TIME MACHINE!"

oh or,
"Mom, happy birthday. It's my birthday cake time!"

He's starting to pretend. He'll come up and ask for a pizza, or hamburger. I quickly "make" some and he carefully shares it with us. Or we guess what's inside of semi trucks. Lately the guess is candy. Or tires.

Or we'll be reading his scriptures and he'll tell me where Jesus is and where John the Baptist is. Or he'll explain how the Liahona works. Now that is fun to listen to.

He often will ask for his special friends at the park or any of his cousins.

He's so funny and smart and a brat and such a little boy. We love him so much.

The Prince

Joel came up to me the other day,

"mom! your hair is so boo-tiful (beautiful). Like a princess!"

"Thank you Joel."

"I'm a princess!"

"No, you're a prince."

"I need a crown!"

So, i proceeded to get a Happy Birthday crown, and tie a blanket around his neck.



He was "Prince Joel" all day. He got the cutest looks during grocery shopping.

Eye Soup

Ok, this is what happened....

I was putting in my contacts the other day. and Joel came in and asked what i was doing. I told him. He looked in the contact case, and said,

"water?"
"no its contact solution."
pause
"eye soup?"

So we got it on video. Joel putting in his "eye soup".

Best. Laugh. Ever.

So, Jared and I (being the unbiased judges we are) think Joel has the funniest most contagious laugh ever.

Here is proof.

This morning.

I just had to post about my lovely morning. (I haven't had one in a long time.)

Joel woke us up at about 7:30 this morning and I rolled over to Jared and said, "I'll give you $35 dollars of my own money if you will let me sleep in a bit."

So, Jared gets up and I sleep an additional 2 hours! So nice.

I got up, took and uninterrupted shower, and got dressed. I walked into the kitchen and said something like, "I want a cake doughnut like I've never wanted one before."

And get this.

Jared put his shoes on and went to Meijer.... For doughnuts.

Amazing

So, while Jared was at Meijer, Joel had some apple slices. And what was he doing with them? He was putting them in and out of Jared sneakers and then eating them. Kind of gross, I know. But so funny.















THEN! Joel found the recycling. And a soy sauce bottle.... and was "drinking" out of it. I promise it was clean! After he put it up to his mouth he would go "Mmmm, ahhhhh"











































I really had the best morning in the world. And I even woke up with hurt feelings. I love my boys so much.
