Above:
She loves to be wrapped tight. I think it's because her poor arms are so long, they get in her way. That being said, she always sneaks one hand up! And usually knocks out her passie. What. A. Weenie.
Below:
I'm pretty sure this little girl has colic. She, like i said, likes to be wrapped up tight, and on her tummy. So night times are difficult and she likes to pacify nurse.... which is exhausting for me.
So, on Tuesday, it was a particularly rough evening. So, Jared took her for a minute while i brushed my teeth. I walked out to find this....
Both snuggled up asleep.

First Sunday Back
We haven't been to Church in like, a month. Between Joel having tummy issues, general conference, and having the baby, it was nice to get back!
And like any mother, I was super excited to play dress up with my baby girl.
I got this dress from a resale shop for $5! I was pretty excited.
Sorry she has "floppy baby syndrome". I'm not the best photographer.
PS! don't you love her hair? That's what happens after it's washed.
I know above is kind of a creepy picture.... sorry.

Evie's First Bath
It's been a rough couple days. The baby blues are settling in (Don't worry. I saw the Doctor today and we talked it all over. I'm OK. Promise:), Joel has been demanding, Evie has been demanding, Jared has been busy, I've been dealing with some serious body issues..... It hasn't been the ideal situation.
SO! In order to calm "troubled waters" (pun intended ha!) we put the kids in the bath. Bath time always seems to put Joel in a better mood, and we usually end up laughing and the mood gets lighter around our house. :)
So Joel loved helping giving "hi baby" a bath.
I wish i knew how to edit some photos. A lot of them are, for lack of a better word, immodest.
Evie has loved having her hair washed in the sink, but the tub... well.... not so much.
And afterward she pooped on Jared. Awesome!
She's sweet :)

Bring Home Baby.
This is a little out of order :)
These are some pictures of when we brought Evie home.
Laying on Grandpa Toney's lap.
Check out her hands! They're huge! That's just one thing that reminds me of Joel.
She now has a bald spot where that bow was. haha.
These are pictures of Joel holding Evie for the first time.
Sorry there is no shirt on Joel.... I take what I can get.
I'm so proud of Joel being such a good big brother. Only a few times has he had fits while I've nursed her. And it's mainly my fault (like i forget to grab his special snack or sippy cup before I nurse her). He helps throw diapers away, burp her, give her her passie, and lots of hugs and kisses. I'm so proud of my babies. :)

Pumpkin Patch
We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and we had a blast. Here's some pictures of the adventure. Sorry there aren't any of Evie... I figure she really didn't care to be out of the sling in the cold :)
And sorry about the silly faces he's making. He's not exactly at a "sit and pose" age.
closest thing i got to a smile.
He had just about as much fun pushing the wagon as riding in it!
He kept trying to pick up pumpkins and saying, "too hay-bee (heavy)"

Oh, Joel.
Well today has been a day! We, meaning Joel, Evie and myself, made our first outing! Yes ladies and gents, I did it. And the whole time all I could think was, "Holy crap... I'm a mother of TWO!" Bizarre.
Anyway. Joel has been out of his comfort zone the past week. With being away from mom and dad for 5 days/nights, a new baby being brought home, and Jared's school schedule mixed up, he's been "out of sorts". But he's been really coping a ton better than i thought he would He's had very little jealousy issues and has been fond of having the "hi baby" around ( he never says just "baby". She is always addressed as "hi baby").
So it's been no surprise to me that he's had a hard time going to bed. Especially at nap time. Today was no exception. He usually goes down around 12 and falls asleep shortly after that. But today! He didn't fall asleep til' about 2:30-2:45.
So, I peeked in on him to make sure he was alright, and this is what i found. :) He just needed to prop his feet up for a while!

Evelean Ruth Toney
She's here! And we are pleased! Evelean Ruth Toney. 7lbs 11oz. 21 1/2 in. She's a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful baby. We think we'll keep her!
Here's the story:
It may have caught a few people off guard that we did have a c-section. Especially after this post. Through out my pregnancy, I was DEAD SET on having this baby naturally and completely different than my delivery with Joel. And so we waited and waited for my body to cooperate. It didn't. Unfortunately, at 39 weeks, i was not dilated, effaced, or dropped. And that being the case, i was out of any options of augmentations for my labor. So, Jared and I prayed about it and we felt it was the best option for our family to have a c-section.
So! We made the decision to have the section on Monday, I called to set up the surgery on Tuesday, and she was born on Thursday! Crazy, right? It all happened so fast! But the surgery went so much more relaxed than the last and recovery has been a good paced process. We go home (to my moms. at least for a week or so for some help) on Monday and I'm excited for a real bed!
She's such a good baby! Sleeping about 2-4 hours at a time, and is getting MUCH better at nursing! And she is a sweet snuggler! :)
Oh, and Joel? Yeah. He doesn't care about her. At all! haha he tried.
Our attempt at a good family picture. I look pretty drugged.
And THANK YOU AUNT LORI! We love love love the pics!
